How to make a good CV

Everybody know that to get a job they need to make a good CV. That is the summary of your professional life. You tell in it that you consider most important for companies of last ages, jobs, studies, skills, achievements, courses, etc.

People believe that is sufficient just making a standar CV. But, If I tell you that recruiters just look your CV about 10 seconds for sort it in "Valid" or "Invalid". What do you think?

Think that you are working in RRHH department in a company. It has made a new vacancy and you have received 200 new CV. You are responsible recruiter and you start to take a quick look it. What will you do? Would you read all content of that CV or just do a quick look?

So that, Which is your criteria to choose the CV?  That criteria is to take maximum information reading CV in just 10 seconds.

Also, We have to know that in England the most common way to read a CV is through softwares besides recruiters ( thing that in Spain it isn't common)

Well, last week I was in a 16 hours course which aim was to teach you about how make a good CV and tricks to do a good interview.

I thought that my CV was very good ( in format ) because I had attended a similar course in Spain. My surprise was that when I finished that course, I realized that information and format of my CV were useless.

But how tell all that I learnt in that 16 hours is imposible, I am doing a little summary about almost all tricks that I consider most important to make a successful CV in England:

- Full Name
- Adress (Just Postal Code and City)
- Key Words
- Format Documnets *.doc , no *.docx
- No Underline -> Software doesn't read underline words
- Dates: American Style
- Max. 2 pages
- No foto
- Personal message in your Mobile voicemail.
- Structure ( See my CV as a example )
- Specific Vocabulary about your field
- Corrected Spelling

My Expectations...

Yes, I know. I know that I can't choose my perfect job, but I would like to focus my professional in some job where do things like these:

• Extraction market data of main information sources (eg Nielsen).
• Analysis of these findings and submitting of the conclusions to the Brand Manager.
• Extraction internal sales statistics and submitting them.
• Tracking competition.
• Support Brand manager in the definition and implementation of the marketing plan.

• Project management with international multidisciplinary teams
•  Administrative support to the area or department
• Support in implementation of the brands online.

Attending to this, a perfect job for me would be to work in Unilever supporting CalvĂ©, Ligeresa and Hellmann's in Brand Building

Eight tricks to get a job!

I know that to find a job nowadays is too difficult  but there are tricks job seekers can do to increase their chances of being hired. Here are seven experts tips to getting hired:

Go after temporary and freelance work in your target field. Research by The Human Capital Institute indicates that one third of the EU work force is now composed of contract workers as corporations cut permanent staff to reduce staff. This pool of workers is growing at more than twice the rate of the full-time work force.
Temporary, contract and freelance work can lead to a permanent gig, but at the time, it helps pays some bills and build a portfolio.

Narrow your search. Casting a wide net during your search might not bring in more fish since you won't have the time to carefully craft customized resumes and cover letters for the positions.
Applying to job openings that truly match your skills and interests will increase your odds of getting the right job.

Become a thought leader online. Blogging and participating in LinkedIn group discussions increases your online visibility and lends credibility.
Sharing relevant information with colleagues and potential hiring managers helps position you as someone who cares about the industry and is insightful and well-connected in that particular area

Seek the help of a headhunter.  If your profession uses recruiters, such as management or IT, give a couple firms in your area a call. Organizations pay them good money to find the right person.

Use your network tactfully and contact workers on the inside. Research employees in the company you want to work for and get to know them. And don't be afraid to ask them if it is possible to schedule an informational interview with the person in charge.

Get creative. With hundreds of applicants potentially vying for one job, it's important to stand out and leave a good impression.

Clean up your online life. It might seem like a non-brainer to most, but be sure to take down public photos you wouldn't want your boss to see; remember that every Tweet or status update represents your brand.

Last one is of my harvest, be patient and never give up!

Just one post to be hired

Yes, just one, just one post is necessary to be hired.

It is easy to apply for several jobs and wait to hear something. It is what everybody does. But nowadays finding a job is very difficult even if you are a foreign person,  in this case it is even much more difficult.

Today it is not sufficient just to wait and wait. We have to do new things, we have to differentiate ourselves from the rest.

I studied Marketing and I know that one of the most important pillar in Marketing is the competitive advantage.

According to Google, a competitive advantage is an advantage that a company has over its competitors, allowing it to generate greater sales or margins and/or retain more customers than its competition. There can be many types of competitive advantages including the firm's cost structure, product offerings, distribution network and customer support. It serves to give a company an edge over its rivals and an ability to generate greater value for the firm and its shareholders. An increase in sustainable competitive advantage, makes it more difficult for competitors to neutralize the advantage.

How can I translate this to a person? It is easy, Our customers are the companies where we want to work and our sales are our contracts.

The definition says that there are many ways to stand out from the rest  in the case of a company. In the case of people I think that there are much more ways.

The aim of a personal marketing campaign is to attract the attention of as many companies as possible because as more companies more opportunities to do interviews

It is easy to say but not to do.

How are companies getting more customers and increasing sales nowadays? Using Social Media Marketing.

Companies use blogs, social networks, youtube, etc. to get views and traffic in its websites to translate it in sales. They make a mixture to position its websites in good positions on most important searchers using SEO strategies.

So, why not do it for people who want get interviews? It is just for companies?

I think that we can use social media marketing for all kind of things.
I decided to show myself by this form, by social media, because this is the way that nowadays all people use and all people trust.

In my opinion, I think that everything in the life needs continuous  updates.

I think that with this I can get more opportunities to find a job or, at least,  more interviews. But the problem is that I dont have much time to acheive this because I know that lot of people like me will start to do the same because good ideas are quickly copied.
